It's here and it's killer.

Ok, it's been here for about a month. I've built it entirely myself (minus the wheels lah), and it is running smooooth. According to the speedo I'm already up to 470 kilometers. I'm commuting to work daily, and I'll be riding the OCBC challenge this weekend. Should be fun. Spec breakdown (different than pic):

Campy Veloce gruppo minus the brakes and cassette
Thompson Seatpost and Stem, Richey Bars, CB Candy Peds
My Old MTB WTB Saddle (comfy though!)
BB7 Road disk breaks (fucking awesome - especially in rain)
Wheels are Mav OP's with the SWEET Phil Wood hubs (30mm disk baby)
Treads are Schwalbe Ultremo (love the graphics)
Misc but essential part is the JTek Shiftmate - Campy DOES love Shimano.

My little Coconino

This is my bike on the design table. Shot courtesy of Mr. Garro. Boy, I can't wait for this thing to be built up and kitted out! History is I ordered this thing in April '08, Steve is an independent builder in Flagstaff and his waiting list is nearly a year out. Now I'm up next! Exciting stuff.

Cycling here is...

If you can't tell, cycling is a big part of my life. I ride my bicycle to work daily and I hit the trail on Saturday and Sunday when I can. I will post stuff related to cycling in my community as much as possible, and to begin with, I start with two news links:

Enforce the rules, asks reader

and

Off the bus and into a speeding cyclist

Cycling on the road in this country is fraught with danger, the roads are packed with arrogant drivers, public buses that pay no attention, private buses that are clueless, errant speeding lorries, large barreling cement trucks, and worse. It's a war that cannot be won, but to survive day-to-day requires skill, ability and the application of common sense. I never (when possible) cycle on the pavement (sidewalk). Riding a bicycle on the sidewalk, to me, is just dumb.

Guess I have to write something...

Well, if this is going to work I guess I will have to write something once in a while. Hmmmm... well my Mother is happily at home again, she left Friday morning after spending two weeks with us.

Great to have you here with us Mom! Here's a pic of both Grandma and Nat at the Pump Room last Friday night, we (I) ordered a tower of beer (3.5 litres) for the three of us - the girls drank each 250 mils and I finished the rest. It was a good night.Yes, that is indeed a Grossman jersey. Yeah, I know, but it was a gift from Mom, and it was 'on sale' (go figure), so it's ok.
